Gareth Hughes

"It doesn't matter if the horse wobbles, what we are looking for is an attempt to follow us. Through time this gets more and more consistant."

About Gareth

Gareth, British born, spent much of his childhood competing in a variety of equine sports including Dressage, Showing, in hand and Western riding whilst living in Australia. He returned to England, aged 23, and worked initially at Broadstone Stud, Paradise Farm in Oxfordshire. After six months Gareth began freelancing. Over the past 10 years Gareth has amassed more than 30 National and International Titles including International wins at Small Tour and Grand Prix, both in the UK and abroad. He represented Great Britain at the Nations Cup in Rotterdam in 2012, was short listed for the 2011 European Championships and long listed for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The greatest accolade was to come when in 2013, Gareth was part of the Bronze Medal winning team at the FEI European Dressage Championships in Herning, capping off an already phenomenal year, where he was already the winner of two nation cup team competitions. He then represented Great Britain at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in 2014 putting in a great performance to help secure the team a Silver Medal. Gareth has produced many horses through the levels to Grand Prix and has been training with Carl Hester for the last 10 years. He is in great demand as a trainer, teaching from grass roots through to Grand Prix. He is a trainer for the World Class Excel Squad and to the Australian Event Team. He is also a member of the World Class Performance Squad.
